13. What Judges Look For (Seminar)

  Workshop Description:

Includes a one-hour power-point presentation, a discussion of evaluation techniques, and a short mock judging by the students to evaluate sample quilts using the techniques described in the presentation.

This seminar provides a primer for those interested in pursuing quilt judging. When I judge shows, I am frequently asked to give this workshop following the judging and presentation of awards. It gives show entrants in attendance a view into my rationale in evaluating their quilts. It is intended also for those who hope to become show judges in the future.
