A dear friend and judging mentor sometimes comments when evaluating a quilt that the quilt maker should "Take care at corners." At one show judging, a scribe asked my friend why she was saying, "Take carrot corners." Fortunately for the eventual recipients of the judge's evaluation sheets from that show, the misinterpretation was corrected; but, whenever I am working on a piece having difficult points to appliqué, I forever think of it as "Carrot Corners". |
