Hi! I'm Barb

I have been a committed quilter for over twenty years.. How time flies! But it's been very very rewarding having the most caring people in the world to share it with... the community of Quilters!

I've been very fortunate over the years during my 20+-year quilting journey as a retired RN to have developed a passion for 3-dimensional, floral sculpted appliqué. My love of quilting and this technique have enabled me to produce a number of award-winning bed quilts and wall hangings, to successfully pursue my dreams of becoming a nationally certified quilt show judge, to design 3-D applique patterns of my own, and to teach my techniques to others through lectures and workshops, sometimes while show judging, all across the country and around the world. In fact, just a few months ago my husband and I were in Gramado, Brazil -- me teaching, lecturing and judging while he played golf (It's a tough life, but someone's gotta do it!) .  So, it's been quite a ride -- but a thoroughly enjoyable one the two of us!

Like most quilters, I am an active member of many guilds and ‘bee’ groups; and I have held almost every board and committee position at one time or another in many of these organizations. I share all of the same idiosyncrasies other quilters do... I have all too big a stash, too many UFO's (Unfinished Objects)

and I have trouble saying 'NO' to other quilters!

A Final Comment:

I mentioned the lectures, workshops and patterns... If you're able to check them out, I'd appreciate any comments you might have to offer. The patterns, in particular, are part of my Wallflowers Collection which I completed earler this past year. These include what I believe are innovative techniques for quilters even if I do say so myself. All of these are original designs; and many are available at a growing number of quilt shops across the country.
